Songwriters Across Texas and Hill’s Cafe have been hosting the Supper Club for almost a year now and it’s always a fun thing to do. But, it’s also a lot of work…especially for Hill’s manager and staff! So, for April, the honoree was Hill’s Cafe manager, Marianna Marchesini…with a special thanks to all of her staff. While it was supposed to be a surprise, someone told, but it was still special! And the music by two of our favorites, Leeann Atherton and Jim Stringer, just made it even more fun. 😊
What a party was had!! Songwriters Across Texas honored Lane Gosnay for her continuing support of songwriters and musicians at The Bugle Boy in LaGrange, TX. What a sweet lady she is!! The music was by none other than Shake Russell and Michael Hearne accompanied on bass by Mike Roberts!! All we can say about these guys is…WOW!!! You’ve got to hear them! And, while you’re at it, stop in at The Bugle Boy and say “Hi” to Lane! And, I got a new theme song…check it out in the video below!!!
Every month, when Songwriters Across Texas features a couple of songwriters at a special show, the historic Hill’s Cafe really goes all out to help spotlight the entertainers and honor the special guests.
This month, the focus was on the “Young Guns”…..talented young musicians just getting a foothold in the music scene.
- Lucas Sousa is 17 and writes songs to rival more experienced writers. His singing and presentation reminds you a very young George Strait.
- Lucas Johnson is 19 and has that “blues” touch to his songs and playing. But, not only can this young man write songs and sing, he’s awesome on guitar and fiddle.
With young musicians like these coming up, we don’t have to worry about the future of our music. 😉
